The self-proclaimed hottest name in the game, Chris Capone a.k.a. Christos F. Capone was born Christopher Ray in the windy city Chicago, Illinois. As a youth, the 22-year-old MC grew up in a middle-class environment, in one of Chicago’s most notorious neighborhoods, Englewood. A straight A student, artist & musician during his grammar school years, Capone’s parents tried to shelter him from the ills of Englewood by sending him to private catholic school. At age 13 he was introduced to rap by his best friend Christopher “Big Chris” Jordan who taught him how to freestyle, battle, and eventually write songs. During the course of his high school career he took on the name Christos, the root word being “Christ” whom he felt gave him his gift. He went on to battle close to 100 rappers only to lose once. He then decided to focus his time and energy into making songs. When he turned 16; he was in a group that needed beats, so with his ear for music he took on the role of the group’s producer. In the summer of 2004, he was in a near fatal car accident that caused him to have a permanent scar on his right eyelid. This event in his life inspired him to add the second part of his name “ Capone”, after the legendary Chicago gangster Al “Scarface” Capone who also had a facial scar. Recently, he changed his name to Chris Capone (a combination of his government and rap name) to introduce himself to a more larger audience. He feels that by using his real name, he will allow his fans to relate to him as an individual & not just another rapper. He still uses Chirstos Capone as an alias because many of his fans still know him under that name and it is a part of him that he grew up with. Many who have heard his music often find themselves in it. His subject choices are very well rounded and relative, whether it capturing the highest or lowest point of life in general. He stays true to himself and makes good music. With his combination of hot tracks, catchy hooks, and hard bars, Chris Capone is a triple threat that may very well make him the hottest name in the game.
