Ramelle`A. Walker, an artist with a soulful sound, was born in Chicago, Illinois. In her youth, she discovered she was musically talented and driven. Ramelle` was fueled by her faith to excel as a professional vocalist and performer of R&B/Jazz music.
Walker is the type of artist that is able to hold a crowd's attention, making them feel as though she is speaking to them directly. She is an ASCAP singer-songwriter who has an appreciation for good music, concentrating on the New Wave Hip Hop Soul genre. She has written such songs as Can't Be Myself, The Anthem (Be Free), and Possibilities and Charade. Can't Be Myself speaks to the importance of finding your comfort zone amidst uncomfortable situations. The Anthem(Be Free) continues with the theme of self preservation in the face of adversity, while Possibilities is a flirtatious tune with an infectious melody that stays with the listener long after it's played. Charade is her first attempt at writing production arranging and recording.
Ramelle` honed her skills at Columbia College and Roosevelt University in Chicago. She has been featured at various venues throughout the city both as a background vocalist and solo performer, including concerts with the late great Oscar Brown Jr. and his daughter Maggie Brown (a force to be reckoned with in her own right). Walker continued her education and training at the Musicians Institute in Hollywood, California, earning recognition as a "wonderful talent" and a degree in Vocal Performance with a heavy focus in Music Business. Ramelle has performed at such venues as the Knitting Factory, Beverly Hilton, DuSable Museum, South Shore Cultural Center, Chicago Historical Society and the Hot House and Bar Louie. Watch out for her at a venue near you...
