At 6:19am on March 18, 2008, Prolyfic said…: So then say with the neptunes.. you'd take a few of the instrmnls that "sound" the way you wanna go right. analyze the tracks thru and thru. like how the snare is hittin vs how the kick is hittin , and compare it to the track you working on. i'm pretty sure you'll notice a huge difference in neps vs your own. then look at how the sounds are in comparison to yours. from that point it's about doing the proper research to find out exactly wht it took to get that "sound" to sound that way it does. and then knowing how and when to apply it to your own material.
